The Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC) has deployed 20 new volunteers to Liberia.
The NTAC Director-General, Mr Yusuf Yakub, charged them to serve as good ambassadors of Nigeria.
He urged the volunteers to change negative narratives about the Nigeria by filling gaps in the host nation.
Yakub stated this during a ceremony to receive 14 volunteers who completed their two-year assignment in Liberia.
According to him, “Your exposure in Liberia has equipped you as future leaders for Nigeria, and you are seen as expert ambassadors.”

The Director General, who praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for initiating the 4Ds Foreign Policy framework of Diplomacy, Development, Diaspora, and Democracy, said it has strengthened Nigeria’s global image.
He therefore urged the returning volunteers to apply the skills and knowledge they acquired to drive positive change in their communities, saying their role as ambassadors of Nigeria is a lifelong commitment to representing the nation’s values and ideals.
Addressing the new set of volunteers, Mr Yakub highlighted their role as technical ambassadors tasked with showcasing the best of Nigeria.

He encouraged them to uphold exemplary conduct that counters negative perceptions about the country.
The event underscored Nigeria’s commitment to knowledge exchange and international collaboration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 4Ds Foreign Policy.
The Director-General reiterated that the deployment exercise demonstrates Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to South-South cooperation and development-oriented diplomacy.

During the ceremony, he presented Certificates of Participation to the returning volunteers, highlighting NTAC’s record of deploying more than 10,000 volunteers to 40 countries since its establishment in 1987.
