A support group for an aspirant seeking the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket in Adamawa State has cautioned politicians against dragging the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, into partisan politics.

The group, the Dr. Emmanuel Musa Awareness Campaign Group, gave the warning at a press briefing in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, as political activities intensify ahead of the 2026 electoral cycle.

Speaking on behalf of the group, its spokesperson, Anass Bala, expressed concern over what he described as attempts by some political actors to exploit the name of the National Security Adviser by claiming closeness to influential national figures for political advantage.

He described Malam Nuhu Ribadu as a nationally respected statesman whose integrity, professionalism and record of service should not be politicised.

“Malam Nuhu Ribadu is a statesman of proven character and credibility. Dragging his name into partisan politics for selfish gains is unacceptable and could have negative political consequences for Adamawa State,” Bala said

Mr. Bala added that democratic politics should be driven by credibility, merit and service to the people, rather than by name-dropping or perceived affiliations with powerful individuals.

Also speaking, Dr. Emmanuel Musa said whoever emerges as the APC governorship candidate in Adamawa State must accord the National Security Adviser the respect befitting his office, noting that the position is a sensitive national assignment that transcends state-level and partisan political interests.

He further described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s appointment of Malam Nuhu Ribadu as National Security Adviser as a clear indication of his stature as a statesman whose service cuts across ethnic, religious and regional considerations.
