Foreign Doctors offer free treatment to less privileged in Kaduna

Kaduna State indigenes suffering from different ailments have received free medical diagnosis, treatment and surgery.
This was facilitated by a team of foreign Doctors, Doctors without Borders in collaboration with Apostolic overseer Restoration Bible Church ministries worldwide, Reverend Tunde Bolanta with Ashafa Mosque.
The team leader of the foreign doctors from United State, Dr Stuart Quatermont said they offers different kind of treatment and surgeries to patient suffering from different kind of diseases .
He said that over 30 percent of the patient who registered needed surgeries.
“We are in Nigeria for the period of 2 weeks and have handle over 100 cases and will continue to treat all those that registered before leaving the country we have no target number of cases to handle,” Dr Stuart said.
While speaking on their reason for offering free medical services,he said,“When I was in medical school I felt the call from God to help people all around the world and God lead me to Africa and eventually to Nigeria.”
According to him, they have been carrying out medical outreach for eleven years, “We set our theatre at Mercy Angel,s Hospital we brought our equipment,” he said.
He said they carried out free medical outreach two to three times yearly to help less privileged people in the society.
Reverend Tunde Bolanta of the Apostalic Overseer Restoration Bible Church ministries worldwide said the aimed of the outreach was a humanitarian service.
Bolanta who is also the president Mercy Angel’s Hospital Kaduna said the reason for the outreach was also bring succor to the less previlage in the society.
He said his hospital was able to combine with local team of doctors and consultants in other to bring the benefits to the people.
” We are just helping the suffering masses in which ever way we can, and have been doing other things like IDPs relieve work, helping children affected in area of education, orphans, the less previlage among others,” Bolanta stated.
According to him, their goal is to help the people in the society irrespective of tribe, religious and ethnic background.
Iman Mohammed Ashafa, the Co-Excutive Director, Interfaith Mediation Centre Kaduna, one of the facilitator of the free outreach said the aimed was to assist those who cannot afford medical bills.
Ashafa who is also the Chief Iman of Ashafa Mosque said the humanitarian work was a collaborative work between Ashafa mosque, the Mercy Angel Hospital and the overseer of Apostolic restoration Church.
He said, for us, we are working to bring about togetherness and unity among different Faith’s groups ”
According to him, 250 people have already registered for surgeries.. He assured that those that already registered would be attended to.
some of the beneficiaries commended Mercy Angel’s Hospital and Ashafa Mosque for facilitating their free medical treatment and prayed that God Almighty continued to uplift and bless them abundantly.
