The Nigerian President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has has won the total number of 301,000 votes cast in 3991 poling units across 23 local government areas in the state and his opponent, Mr Stanley Osifo scored zero vote.
The results were declared by the State’s Chef Returning Officer and the state Governor Ahmed Aliyu at the All Progressive Congress (APC) secretariat in Sokoto.
According to him, “the total number of registered APC members stand at 329,320 and the total number of accredited votes is 301,000 and total number of vote cast is 301,000.”
He said that “in all, a total number of 301,000 of the registered voters were accredited for the polls, and all of them cast their votes and President Tinubu secured all the number of votes cast.’
Governor Ahmed Aliyu therefore, used the powers vested in him as the Chief Returning Officer and declared President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the direct Presidential Primary Elections in the state.
He further thanked the leader of the party in the state and the former Governor, Senator Aliyu Wamakko for his sustained support and guidance.
The State Chief Returning Officer for the 2026 APC Presidential primaries, expressed delight with the smooth conduct of the exercise across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
According to the Governor, “the entire process was issues-free across the 3,991 Polling Units across the state.”
Governor Aliyu further said that “all the collated results were duly collated, verified and will be transmitted to the National Collation Officer in Abuja.”
He commended all the stakeholders and members as well as the 23 Local Governments Collation Officers for being law-abiding, diligent , fair and transparent during the conduct of the epochal event.
The APC Chairman in the state, Alhaji Haruna Adiya, applauded Governor Ahmed Aliyu, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, party stakeholders and members for ensuring the seamless conduct of the historic polls.
The declaration ceremony was witnessed by the Minister of State Works, Bello Goronyo, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, the Deputy Governor, Idris Gobir, Speaker, Sokoto State House of Assembly, Tukur Bala Bodinga, National and State Assembly members, Commissioners, Special Advisers among other notable chieftains of party in the state.
