According to the Defence Chief, Eid-al-adha serves as a reminder of the sacrifice, faith and obedience demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim, whose readiness to surrender all in obedience to God continues to inspire humanity.

He noted that the spiritual significance of the celebration offers valuable lessons for Nigerians, particularly at a time when collective commitment and unity are needed to address national challenges and strengthen social harmony.

The CDS warmly felicitated with personnel and civilian staff of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), their families and all Nigerians on the joyous occasion, praying that the celebration would bring peace, blessings and fulfilment to every home.

General Oluyede also paid tribute to troops of the Armed Forces of Nigeria deployed across various theatres of operation, commending their courage and sacrifices in safeguarding the country.

He prayed for divine strength, protection and victory for the gallant personnel confronting threats to national peace and security.

The Defence Chief further appreciated security and intelligence agencies as well as Ministries, Departments and Agencies for their sustained collaboration in tackling the nation’s security challenges.

He assured Nigerians that the Armed Forces, operating within a Whole-of-Government Approach, remain resolute in restoring lasting peace and security across the country.

General Oluyede concluded by expressing profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, for his continued support to the military.

He prayed for continued national progress under the President’s leadership and wished all Nigerians a peaceful and blessed Eid-Al-Adha celebration.
