The Presidency has distanced itself from a purported appointment involving one Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, warning the public against recognising any individual or organisation operating under the name “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council”.
In a statement on Thursday, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, said the Nigerian Government had received reports that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi was allegedly parading himself as an appointee of the Office of the Chief of Staff.
Gbajabiamila clarified that no such organisation exists under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and that no appointment had been made in that regard.
“The unsuspecting public is hereby advised to note that such an office does not exist under this administration and no appointment has been made in that regard,” the statement said.
The Presidency urged members of the public, foreign and diplomatic missions, financial and multilateral institutions, development organisations and security agencies to disregard any claims of official recognition or appointment associated with the purported council.
The Chief of Staff reiterated that the Nigerian Government had not authorised any individual or group to operate under the name of the alleged organisation and advised stakeholders to be guided accordingly.
