President Tinubu Presides Over Federal Executive Council Meeting

The Nigerian President Bola Tinubu is presiding over a meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the State House, Abuja.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, invited members of the Council to observe a minute of silence in honour of two former ministers who recently died.

The meeting is expected to consider issues relating to the administration and development of the country.

The Council paid tribute to former Minister of Finance, Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji, who served during the administration of former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida, and former Minister of Science and Technology, Professor Turner Isoun, who served under former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Alhaji died on July 30 at the age of 89, while Professor Isoun passed away on July 15 at 87.

The Council meeting, which is still ongoing, has most of its members in attendance, including the SGF Akume; the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack; Chief of Staff to the President, Hon Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Security Adviser (NSA); Ministers and other aides of the President.
