Troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have foiled a cattle-rustling operation and recovered more than 500 cattle in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The operation was conducted on September 8, 2026, following a distress call from residents reporting cattle rustling at Rugar Mande Kurmin.
The troops mobilised to the area and established blocking positions along suspected withdrawal routes.
The Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, disclosed this in a statement

The troops engaged the terrorists from multiple positions, forcing them to withdraw in disarray and abandon the rustled cattle, which were subsequently recovered and handed over to their respective owners.
The successful operation further demonstrates the commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA troops to protecting lives and property while disrupting criminal activities and denying criminal elements freedom of action across the Joint Operations Area.
Operation FANSAN YAMMA urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies with relevant information to assist ongoing efforts to eradicate terrorist elements within the Joint Operations Area.
