The Nigerian Technical Aid Corps, NTAC, has undertaken a Monitoring and Evaluation Mission to the Republic of Liberia to assess the performance, impact and welfare of Nigerian Technical Aid Corps Volunteers serving in the country.
In a statement by the NTAC Head of Information and Public Relations, Ojo Olubunmi, the mission, led by the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of NTAC, Dr Yusuf Yakub, provided an opportunity for direct engagement with the Volunteers, review of their assignments and contributions, identification of challenges, and assessment of areas requiring further institutional support.
“The exercise is part of NTAC’s efforts to ensure that the deployment of Nigerian professionals remains responsive to the development priorities of partner countries and delivers meaningful outcomes through technical assistance, knowledge transfer and human-capital development.”
“It also reflects Nigeria’s commitment to South-South Cooperation and development diplomacy, in line with the foreign policy direction of the Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly the 4-D Foreign Policy Agenda of Democracy, Development, Demography and Diaspora, and the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Nigerian government.”
Speaking on behalf of the Nigerian Volunteers in Liberia, the Team Lead, Ajibe Yahaya, expressed appreciation to the NTAC Director-General for his continued support and attention to the welfare and professional development of the Volunteers.

Yahaya noted that the “leadership’s encouragement had boosted the morale and commitment of the Volunteers, assuring the NTAC Management of their continued dedication to duty and commitment to upholding the good name and reputation of Nigeria in Liberia”.
He also commended the Monitoring and Evaluation Mission, noting that the engagement demonstrated NTAC’s commitment to the performance, contributions and welfare of Nigerian volunteers serving abroad.
The mission further reinforced the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and Liberia, particularly in technical cooperation, human-capital development, knowledge exchange and institutional collaboration.
“NTAC will continue to strengthen its monitoring and evaluation processes to ensure that volunteers effectively deliver on their mandates, while their deployments remain aligned with the development needs of partner countries.”
The Corps appreciates the Government and people of the Republic of Liberia for the warm reception accorded the Nigerian delegation and for their continued cooperation and support for Nigerian volunteers serving in the country.
The engagement underscores Nigeria’s commitment to sustaining mutually beneficial technical cooperation with Liberia and strengthening professional and institutional partnerships in furtherance of development and stronger African relations.
Established in 1987 under the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NTAC serves as a strategic alternative to direct financial aid, focusing on sharing Nigeria’s technical expertise and professional skills with developing countries. It operates as a foreign policy instrument to promote South-South cooperation, strengthen diplomatic relations, and support human capital development abroad.
The NTAC has deployed over 10,000 volunteers since its inception, contributing to sustainable development, capacity building, and knowledge exchange in partner countries. Its interventions have been recognised and applauded by governments in beneficiary countries, enhancing Nigeria’s international image and diplomatic influence.
