A community leader in Delta State, Mr Ossai Nzekwe, has called for leadership anchored on humility, respect for elders and commitment to community development as a pathway to Nigeria’s growth.
Nzekwe made the call during a virtual endorsement ceremony for Mr Ossamulu Chukwuyenim, a Labour Party aspirant for the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general election.
The ceremony, held at Okpia Umuagulu in Ndokwa East Constituency of Delta State, attracted stakeholders from Isitu, Umuagulu, Obeze, Ashaka, Ibusu, Ngwekaba and Umuedem villages.
Nzekwe said the community’s endorsement reflected its confidence in Chukwuyenim’s capacity to provide responsible leadership and effective representation at the National Assembly.
“Our blessings upon Chukwuyenim reaffirm the importance of leadership rooted in humility, respect for our elders and a genuine commitment to the development of our community.
“This is a moment of blessing, wisdom and community support for him as our choice, voice and guide towards a shared future.
“It is also our way of promoting good representation in the National Assembly in the 2027 elections,” he said.
Responding, Chukwuyenim thanked Nzekwe, community stakeholders and other participants for their support, describing the endorsement as a renewed commitment to peace, unity and sustainable development across the constituency.
“Our vision is centred on a Ndokwa/Ukwuani where every community is habitable, inclusive and peaceful, with opportunities for our people to thrive,” he said.
The Labour Party aspirant pledged to prioritise infrastructure development, access to potable water, improved road networks, security, youth development and agricultural reforms if elected.
He said the proposed initiatives were aimed at promoting grassroots development, strengthening social cohesion and creating greater opportunities for residents across the constituency.
Chukwuyenim also reaffirmed his commitment to upholding community values and pursuing development-oriented policies to build a stronger society and secure a brighter future for the people.
The ceremony featured goodwill messages from community leaders and other participants, as well as prayers for divine guidance, strength and success for the aspirant in his bid to represent the constituency.
