Security has been intensified across Kaduna metropolis ahead of Saturday’s All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally, the party’s first campaign event ahead of the 2027 general election.
President Bola Tinubu and other APC stalwarts are expected to attend the rally, which is anticipated to attract party leaders, governors, political office holders and supporters from across the country.
A visit to the city on Friday revealed an increased security presence at major junctions, with security personnel also patrolling different parts of the city to maintain order ahead of the rally.
Security has also been reinforced around the Ranchers Bees Stadium, the venue of the rally, with operatives monitoring activities both within and outside the facility.

The influx of political personalities and other visitors has heightened activities across the city, with hotels and service apartments reportedly fully booked ahead of the event.
Campaign posters and billboards bearing the images of APC candidates and party leaders were also prominently displayed on walls and along major roads across the Kaduna metropolis.
The Kaduna State Government had earlier announced preparations for the rally, including security arrangements and facilities for guests.

The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State and Chairperson of the Local Organising Committee, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, said attendees would be screened before being allowed into the stadium.
The rally is expected to provide a platform for the APC leadership to present its campaign message and mobilise party members and supporters ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
