Niger State Governor orders investigation of hospital equipment

Niger state Governor in North Central Nigeria Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has ordered for an investigation for the cause of dilapidated facilities in the state owned Hospital known as IBB Specialist hospital situated in Minna the State capital.

The state Governor expressed disappointment over the sanitary condition and lack of major functional equipment, during a visit to victims of a recent bandits attack in Kagara area of the state.

The Governor who directed the commissioner of finance to immediately released funds for the repairs of the dialysis machines for the treatment of those with kidney related problems, also expressed dismay over lack of functional dialysis machine out of ten existing ones, despite released of resources for the renovation and purchases of the hospital equipment few years ago.
He stated that the commissioner of Health, Dr Mohammed MakunSidi and the hospital Medical Director, Dr Isah Umar would be investigated to ascertain the actual use of funds meant for the works in the hospital.

According to him, “I am angry, extremely disappointed with the situation of the hospital, a lot of money was spent to renovate the entire hospital and replace almost everything,” he added

“Something is mentally wrong, obviously we have a commissioner and head of the hospital, someone is not doing his or her job and this is subject to our investigation”
