The Anambra State Government has begun the statewide rollout of its official government email domain, @anambrastate.gov.ng, in a move to strengthen cybersecurity, enhance digital governance and improve public confidence in official communications.
The initiative, coordinated by the Anambra State ICT Agency, is being implemented across all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure that government correspondence is secure, standardised and verifiable.

In a statement, the Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Angela Nwanodu, said the unified government email domain would serve as the state’s trusted digital identity while reducing the risk of impersonation and other cyber threats.
She said the migration would improve the security of official communications, strengthen institutional accountability and assure citizens that messages received through the domain genuinely originate from the Anambra State Government.
According to Nwanodu, the initiative aligns with Nigeria’s National Second Level Domain Policy (2022), which promotes the use of official government domains to strengthen digital identity and secure public sector communications nationwide.
She disclosed that the Anambra State Executive Council had completed its transition to the official government email domain, while the Anambra State ICT Agency is coordinating the onboarding of the remaining Ministries, Departments and Agencies across the state.
The migration process includes the creation of official email accounts, identity verification, staff sensitisation and technical support to ensure a seamless transition across government institutions.
Nwanodu added that the initiative supports Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s digital transformation agenda, encapsulated in the slogan, “Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere,” as well as the Anambra State ICT Agency’s roadmap towards becoming an AI-first public sector agency.
