The First Lady of Anambra State and Wife of the State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo has been selected to receive the 2026 National Leadership Conference (NLC) Award for Excellence in Social Impact Leadership in Abuja.
The award will be presented during the two-day NLC scheduled for Sept. 18 and 19 at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
Mrs Soludo’s selection was conveyed in a notification letter by Mr. Linus Okorie, Chief Executive Officer of the GOTNI Leadership Centre, organisers of the conference.
Okorie said Mrs Soludo was selected in recognition of her leadership, contributions and impact in social and community development.
“Your recognition is based on your leadership and contribution,” he said in the letter.
The organisers said Soludo was selected alongside other leaders “who are shaping the future and redefining what is possible.”
The 2026 conference is themed “The Leadership Advantage: Aligning Vision, Driving Action and Delivering Results.”
The GOTNI Leadership Centre said the Excellence in Social Impact Leadership category recognises individuals whose leadership and initiatives have contributed to social impact and community development.
The First Lady’s selection comes against the backdrop of her advocacy and interventions in preventive healthcare, nutrition, menstrual hygiene, maternal and child well-being, environmental hygiene and healthy living across Anambra State.
Through the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, she has championed programmes including health screenings and awareness campaigns, nutrition interventions for children, distribution of menstrual hygiene products to schoolgirls and community-based healthy-living activities across the state’s 21 local government areas.
In the notification letter, Okorie congratulated her, saying the NLC Secretariat was prepared to honour and celebrate her achievements at the conference.
The recognition comes shortly after Mrs Soludo received the BudgIT Health Activism Award for her work through the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, particularly in preventive healthcare and community wellness.
The NLC 2026 Award is expected to be formally presented to Soludo during the conference in Abuja.
