The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Gombe State Governor, Inuwa Yahaya, as the North-East Zonal Coordinator for Stakeholder Mobilisation in the newly constituted 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council.
Governor Yahaya’s appointment was contained in the membership list of the council released on Saturday, 22 August 2026, alongside the names of other members.
In his new role, Yahaya will coordinate the engagement and mobilisation of key APC stakeholders across the six states of the North-East geopolitical zone ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The Presidential Campaign Council is chaired by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, serving as vice-chairmen.
Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, is the Director-General of the campaign, while Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, serves as Secretary.
Yahaya’s appointment underscores his strategic role within the APC, particularly in strengthening party cohesion, stakeholder engagement and grassroots mobilisation across the North-East.
A second-term governor of Gombe State and the APC candidate for Gombe North Senatorial District, Yahaya is an experienced politician with extensive knowledge of party organisation, stakeholder engagement and grassroots mobilisation.
His latest appointment adds to his growing responsibilities within the APC’s mobilisation structure.
He was recently appointed by President Tinubu as Secretary of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, with responsibility for party outreach and mobilisation, a role he has continued to discharge with diligence and commitment.
With his extensive political networks, deep understanding of the region and longstanding engagement with party stakeholders across the North-East, Governor Yahaya is expected to bring his experience and mobilisation capacity to bear on the Campaign Council’s efforts to galvanise support for President Tinubu and the APC across the zone.
