Federal Commissioner, National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, and APC stalwart in the South-East, Ginika Tor, has commended Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, for what she described as exemplary leadership and commitment to the development of the state.
Tor, reacting to the election of 17 Local Government Council Chairmen and 260 Councillors in the state, said the governor’s leadership had continued to inspire the confidence and trust of the people.
She said the election of the council leaders on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) reflected what she described as the confidence of Enugu residents in the government at both the national and subnational levels.
According to her, Mbah had demonstrated through his actions a commitment to serving the people, describing the development as a new political chapter for the state.
“Enugu is now APC,” she said.
Tor urged the newly elected council leaders to regard their mandates as a call to greater service and responsibility, charging them to emulate the governor’s commitment to governance by being trustworthy, accountable, accessible, and responsive to the needs of their constituents.
She emphasised that political office should be viewed as an opportunity to positively impact lives and contribute meaningfully to the development of communities across Enugu State.
The Federal Commissioner charged the council leaders to prioritise the welfare of the people, stressing that effective grassroots leadership begins with listening to citizens and responding to their genuine needs.
She also urged them to work in unity and uphold the confidence reposed in them by the electorate.
Tor wished the newly elected council leaders a successful tenure, urging them to use their positions to advance development and improve the wellbeing of people at the grassroots.
