The Kwara State Government has sued for love and peace among all to honour the memory of fallen heroes.

The State Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi made the call on Sunday at the inter-denominational thanksgiving service to mark this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem Appeal week at the 12th ECWA Church, Alagbede, Ilorin.

Mr. Alabi said this administration acknowledged the Nigeria Legion of Ex-Servicemen for its unrelenting efforts at mobilising funds to aid their incapacitated colleagues and families. He added that retired officers could be relied on to complement the efforts of security agencies for rapid development in the State.

The Deputy Governor implored the public to cooperate with the government and the Nigeria Ex-Servicemen to make the programme a success.

The Chairman, State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Most Revered Doctor Paul Olawoore said the only way to ensure that those called to serve do so diligently and wholeheartedly is for those in charge of this task to rid themselves of prejudice or bias.

He urged all to refrain from destructive comments about the soldiers adding that the Nigerian Armed Forces are doing their best and need to be encouraged and commended.

Readings from the Bible came from the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police, D.S.S and the Deputy Governor.
