Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has announced that he will no longer perform alongside American music icons Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent at the upcoming Legacy Tour concert in London.

The event, part of 50 Cent’s ongoing global tour, is scheduled to take place on July 3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Davido made the announcement via his Instagram Stories on Saturday, 14 June 2025, explaining that his withdrawal was based on professional principles rather than ticket sales concerns.

He clarified: “This decision is not a reflection of turnout or support; it is a matter of principle and respect for my craft, my fans, and the culture I represent.”

Despite his exit, the concert will proceed as planned, without him.

In his official statement, the ‘Unavailable’ hitmaker expressed disappointment over persistent issues with the event’s planning, which he claimed failed to meet his performance standards.

“Over the past few weeks, I have extended my full support and professionalism to The Neto Future Group, promoters of @iconicpresents, with the sincere intention of delivering a performance that meets the high standards my fans deserve,” he wrote.

“Despite strong fan support and impressive ticket sales, there have been major misalignments regarding the event’s execution, particularly concerning key elements required to uphold the integrity and quality of my performance.”

“Unfortunately, these issues remain unresolved.”

He went on to express appreciation to his fans: “My team and I have worked tirelessly in preparation, and I am incredibly grateful to the thousands of fans who purchased tickets in anticipation.”

Although he will not feature in the July 3 show, Davido assured fans that all his other scheduled performances for the summer would go on as planned.

“London, I’ll see you guys soon, I promise! The rest of the shows this summer are still happening. 5ive is still alive! See you guys in Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Canada, and the US! Africa must be respected.”
