The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council has received a financial contribution from the NUJ FCTA Chapel towards its ongoing Multipurpose Congress Hall construction project.
The donation marks a significant milestone, making the FCTA Chapel the first chapel to formally support the initiative financially.
The contribution was presented during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the FCTA Chapel to the NUJ FCT Council Secretariat.
The delegation was led by the chairperson, Ngozi Ufomba. Other members included the Vice Chairman, Hassan Sadiq; Secretary, Niyi Lawal; and Press Week Secretary, Sarah Odugbo.
Receiving the delegation on behalf of the council, the Vice Chairman, Comrade Yahaya Ndambabo, expressed appreciation for the chapel’s support.
He commended the chapel’s leadership for what he described as a thoughtful and strategic decision, noting that the donation would be formally documented. He added that the chapel’s collective commitment to advancing the project demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and solidarity.
Comrade Ndambabo also used the occasion to urge members to regard the union as their own by contributing their quota to its growth and to the overall development of the media profession and Nigeria.

The Multipurpose Congress Hall project, which had its groundbreaking ceremony during the Council’s first anniversary last year and commenced construction earlier this year, has continued to attract widespread support and goodwill.
According to Comrade Ndambabo, the project has recorded remarkable progress and commitment, which he described as uncommon for similar initiatives. He attributed this to the determination and leadership of the Council Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, who is committed to delivering a functional congress hall before the end of her first term in office.
The NUJ FCT Council is expected to issue a formal letter of appreciation to the FCTA Chapel in recognition of its generous contribution and support for the project.
