The Senator representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has commiserated with the people of Tureta Local Government Area following recent bandit attacks on some communities in the area.
Accompanied by a high-powered delegation comprising the Sokoto State Chairman of the ADC, Alhaji Abdullahi Maigwandu, party executives, and former government officials, Senator Tambuwal described the attacks as barbaric, tragic, and deeply unfortunate.
He assured the affected communities that efforts are ongoing in collaboration with government authorities and relevant security agencies at various levels to address the security challenges and bring an end to the menace.
He urged residents to continue supporting security efforts and to cooperate with relevant authorities to ensure a lasting solution to the problem and the restoration of peace across the affected communities, Sokoto State, and the country at large.
Senator Tambuwal prayed to Almighty Allah to grant eternal rest to those who lost their lives in the attacks and speedy recovery to those receiving treatment in various medical facilities. He assured the victims and their families that they are not alone in this difficult moment of grief and sorrow.
He also prayed for divine protection against a recurrence of such dastardly acts.
Tambuwal, who was the former Governor of Sokoto State, further stated that he has been in contact with the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) regarding the incident.
According to him, a NEMA team is expected in the area at any time to assess the extent of the damage and humanitarian needs of the affected communities.
Senator Tambuwal also pledged to mobilise personal support in collaboration with the agency to provide relief and assistance to the affected families.
During the sympathy visit, Senator Tambuwal announced that additional support from the ADC Senatorial Candidate for Sokoto South, Amb. Faruk Yabo, would soon be delivered to the victims to complement ongoing efforts aimed at cushioning the impact of the tragedy and bringing succour to affected families.
