A construction company RADOC operating in Kano State has reaffirmed its commitment to infrastructure development, local employment and community support, saying its projects are contributing to improved access and economic opportunities across the state.
The Managing Director of the company, Doumit Ters stated that the firm had completed several road projects in Kano and was currently executing additional infrastructure works in different locations.
He listed some of the completed projects as the five-kilometre road project in Kura Local Government Area, Nasarawa Hospital Road, Lodge Road and the Kabuga road leading towards Muhammad Buhari area.

According to him, the company began infrastructure development in 2019 after initially operating in the private sector, particularly in building construction materials and asphalt supply.
“We were first in the private sector, and we preferred not to go into government work. We were doing private work. But, over time, we realised that we had the opportunity to contribute to infrastructure development,” he said.
The managing director said the company had since invested in qualified personnel and equipment to improve its capacity to execute projects and meet construction standards.

He explained that the company sometimes went beyond its contractual obligations to address unexpected challenges encountered during construction, describing such interventions as part of its social responsibility.
“Sometimes, it is not only about profit,” he said.
On employment, he disclosed that the company had about 1,300 direct employees, with additional people engaged indirectly through its operations.
He said approximately 93 to 94 per cent of its workforce consisted of Nigerians, particularly people recruited from communities where projects were being executed.
“When we have a project in a particular local government, we make sure we employ as many people as possible from that community,”he said.
He explained that local residents were engaged in various construction roles, including masonry, carpentry, iron bending, general labour and site supervision.
According to him, some workers who demonstrate exceptional skills and commitment are retained as permanent employees and deployed to other project locations.
The managing director said the company’s approach was designed to ensure that infrastructure projects also created employment opportunities and supported livelihoods in host communities.
He also called for greater recognition of contractors based on their ability to deliver quality projects, irrespective of whether they operate in the public or private sector.
“What the government wants is a contractor that can deliver. Any government wants a contractor who can deliver quality work,” he said.
He maintained that the company remained committed to completing its ongoing projects and contributing to infrastructure development.
