The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has held a strategic meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of Lelook Bags and Academy, Mrs Chinwe Ezenwa, as part of ongoing efforts to operationalise the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Women Empowerment and Skill Village in Abuja.
The meeting comes on the heels of the commissioning of the Women Empowerment Centre by the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, during the 10 Million Women Mega Empowerment and Rally recently held in Abuja.
It focused on modalities for the enlistment and take-off of beneficiaries for the empowerment initiative.
Discussions centred on strengthening partnerships and expanding access to empowerment opportunities, vocational training, and sustainable economic growth for Nigerian women, ahead of the commencement of registration for interested beneficiaries.

Speaking during the engagement, the Minister reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to advancing women-focused programmes through impactful collaborations.

“Strategic partnerships and purposeful conversations remain key to advancing opportunities for women across Nigeria,” she stated.
The Minister further noted that the initiative reflects the government’s resolve to promote self-reliance, economic inclusion, and sustainable development among women and girls nationwide.
Also speaking, Chief Mrs Chinwe Ezenwa described the collaboration as a significant step toward building innovation, enterprise, and long-term empowerment pathways for Nigerian women entrepreneurs.

Mrs. Chinwe Ezenwa renowned as the first Nigerian entrepreneur to secure an African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Certificate of Origin and successfully export under the AfCFTA framework, is widely regarded as a trailblazer in intra-African trade and women-led manufacturing.
The strategic partnership with Lelook Bags and Academy is expected to provide world-class training for beneficiaries between the ages of 18 and 45 in export-ready bag-making, entrepreneurship, and enterprise development, further advancing economic empowerment opportunities for Nigerian women and youths.
The Senator Oluremi Tinubu Women Empowerment and Skill Village currently has an ICT and crafts learning centers.
The meeting underscored the Ministry’s continued drive to support women-led businesses and create opportunities capable of inspiring the next generation of female leaders
