The Nigerian Government has announced that the third evacuation flight for stranded Nigerians in South Africa will depart Johannesburg at midnight on Thursday, bringing home 271 returnees.
In a statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, the evacuation flight, operated by Air Peace, is expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026.
The ministry said the latest operation is part of the Nigerian Government’s ongoing efforts to evacuate Nigerians affected by the recent crisis in South Africa and ensure their safe return home.
Mr. Ebienfa reaffirmed the Nigerian Government’s commitment to the welfare and protection of Nigerians abroad, assuring that efforts to support affected citizens would continue.
