The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has restated its commitment to providing housing for its personnel nationwide as a measure to boost their welfare and encourage effective service delivery.
This was made known by the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nanna Nandap, during the official commissioning of the Nigeria Immigration Service Staff Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited (NIMCOS) Housing Estate at Kutunku Extension, Gwagwalada Area Council, delivered in partnership with a private developer.
The Comptroller-General, who was represented at the event by the Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of Visa and Residency, Dr Franca Usiwoma Nwanneka, said the event was a clear demonstration of the Service’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel, noting that good housing remained one of the most important aspects of staff welfare as it provides security, promotes stability, and enables officers to perform their duties more effectively.

Nandap commended the Executive Committee of NIMCOS for its foresight, dedication, and commitment to improving the welfare of its members through this initiative.
She also appreciated Abiskoly Real Estate Developers for partnering with the cooperative society in executing the project, saying that the company’s professionalism, commitment to quality and timely delivery had contributed immensely to the success being celebrated.
The Comptroller-General urged the beneficiaries of the housing units to take good care of the facilities, ensure the estate was properly maintained, and reciprocate the Service’s good gesture by putting in their best in the discharge of their duties.
“Maintenance is key. It may be your personal property, but take care of it. Let it be decent so that when people come here and see it, they will want more of it elsewhere,” she said.
