As Nigeria joins countries worldwide to mark International Youth Day 2026, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged young Nigerians to embrace hard work and perseverance as pathways to success.
She advised in her message commemorating the day.
She said the youth will attain a successful future if they continue to work hard.

She said: “Today, on International Youth Day 2026, I join the global community in highlighting the significance of this year’s theme, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.”
Although young people come from diverse backgrounds and face different circumstances, they share common aspirations for quality education, meaningful employment, equal opportunities, and a more sustainable future.
“I encourage our youth to remain focused and hardworking. Use education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and active citizenship to pursue your dreams, fulfil your potential, and help build a more peaceful and prosperous Nigeria,” she emphasised.
She also urged authorities and stakeholders to renew their commitment towards youth empowerment to enable them to attain their full potential as they contribute to national development.
“As we commemorate this day, let us renew our commitment to supporting and empowering young people by creating opportunities for them to realise their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society. Happy International Youth Day 2026,” she added.
