Nigeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the State of Israel, Ambassador Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu has formally assumed her diplomatic duties after presenting her Letters of Credence to Israeli President, Isaac Herzog.
She presented the letter at an official ceremony in Jerusalem.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa said the presentation officially marks the commencement of Ambassador Ufochukwu’s assignment as Nigeria’s envoy to Israel and underscores the Nigerian Government’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Speaking after the ceremony, Ambassador Ufochukwu expressed her resolve to deepen bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and Israel during her tenure.
She reaffirmed her commitment to “advancing Nigeria’s foreign policy objectives while promoting closer engagement in areas of shared interest”.
According to the ambassador, “her mission will prioritise the expansion of cooperation in trade and investment, agriculture, technology, security, innovation and cultural exchanges, while promoting stronger people-to-people ties for the mutual benefit of both nations.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed confidence that Ambassador Ufochukwu’s appointment will further consolidate the strategic partnership between Nigeria and Israel.
It noted that her diplomatic mission is expected to create new opportunities for enhanced bilateral cooperation, economic growth and sustainable development.
The presentation of the Letters of Credence reflects Nigeria’s continued commitment to strengthening its diplomatic engagement with Israel and advancing collaboration in critical sectors that will benefit both countries.
