Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, has secured a place in the Top 40 of the ongoing Miss World competition in Vietnam after winning the Africa Top Model title.
Tamunosoye Karibi-George, Miss World Nigeria 2026, has advanced to the Top 40 of the Miss World contest in Vietnam by winning the Africa Top Model award.
Karibi-George emerged ahead of representatives from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya and South Africa at the Top Model competition held during the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVII, themed “Soul of Heritage”.
Her win secured Nigeria an automatic spot in the quarter-finals, with Karibi-George joining other continental champions from the Dominican Republic, France, and Vietnam, who represent the Americas and Caribbean, Europe, and Asia and Oceania, respectively.

The Miss World Organisation announced the results on Instagram, saying, “Congratulations to our four Continental Top Model winners, who have officially secured their places in the Top 40 quarterfinals of Miss World 2026”.
But the competition isn’t over yet: one of these four continental winners will be named the overall Top Model winner and earn a direct place in the Top 20!
The Top 40 will include 10 contestants from each of the four continental groups. The remaining spots will be decided through various challenges such as People’s Choice, Beauty With a Purpose, Head-to-Head, and Multimedia.
Karibi-George, 26, from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, previously reached the African finalists in the Head-to-Head Challenge. She was crowned Miss World Nigeria on June 6 after emerging winner from 20 finalists at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos.
She is a trained communications expert and member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, established Beyond Labels, a project dedicated to promoting inclusion, dignity, and empowerment for children with special needs. She also won the Miss Africa International 2024 title in Accra, Ghana, before earning the Miss World Nigeria crown.
