The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reprinted ballot papers for Saturday’s Osun State governorship election following a court judgment ordering the inclusion of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) on the ballot.
INEC’s Head of Department, Voter Education, Publicity, Gender and Inclusivity, Mr Rufus Ariyo, disclosed this, saying the commission had produced the sensitive election materials weeks before the court judgment.
He said INEC was subsequently required to reprint the ballot papers to reflect the judgment and include the SDP among the parties contesting the election.
According to him, the reprinted materials are being delivered for distribution to the various local government areas ahead of Saturday’s poll.

Ariyo assured voters that the court-ordered reprinting would not affect INEC’s preparedness, saying the commission had made arrangements to ensure that the materials reached their designated locations before voting begins.
He said the commission had also taken measures to address technical challenges recorded during voter accreditation in the Ekiti governorship election.
Ariyo said INEC conducted a mock accreditation exercise about two weeks before the Osun election to test its systems and identify possible challenges.
