The Oyo State Government has officially launched a Digital Land Survey Plan Registry (DLSPR) to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in land administration.
The government said the launch marks a significant step towards modernising the state’s land management system and improving access to survey records and related services.
During the ceremony held at the Office of the Surveyor-General, Secretariat, Ibadan, the Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Akin-Funmilayo Williams, said the Land Survey Plan Registry is an innovative platform designed to modernise the registration, management, verification, and spatial analysis of survey plans.

The Commissioner, who spoke through the Oyo State Surveyor-General, Adesoji Adeoye, explained that DLSPR is a landmark initiative that reinforces the government’s commitment to digital transformation, transparency, and efficient land administration across the state.
He maintained that digitising the Land Survey Plan Registry will make the platform provide faster, more secure, and more reliable services to licensed surveyors, land professionals, investors, government agencies, and the general public.
Williams commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to leveraging technology as a catalyst for good governance and improved public service delivery, saying the Makinde-led administration has been instrumental in bringing the transformative initiative to fruition.
He stated that “the DLSPR represents a major milestone in strengthening the integrity of land records, improving service delivery, reducing processing times, and enhancing public confidence in Oyo State’s land administration system.
It also supports evidence-based planning and sustainable development by providing improved access to accurate and reliable geospatial information.”
The commissioner disclosed that as part of the implementation process, 40 personnel were being trained to equip them with the skills and knowledge required for the effective operation and management of the Digital Land Survey Plan Registry.
Williams however noted that “the Office of the Surveyor-General encourages all trainees to demonstrate dedication, commitment, and professionalism throughout the programme, recognising the critical role they will play in ensuring the successful deployment and long-term sustainability of the initiative.”
The commissioner confirmed that the digital platform and the training programme were sponsored by the Oyo State Government through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the Oyo State Government and Private Networks Nigeria Limited.
Williams explained that upon the successful completion of the training, participants will be offered temporary employment opportunities to support the deployment and operation of the Digital Land Survey Plan Registry.
He appreciated the Federal School of Surveying, Oyo, for its invaluable support and technical contributions to the successful implementation of the initiative, noting that the institution’s partnership has further strengthened the state’s efforts to build local capacity and advance modern land administration practices.
