President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election held in Plateau State, recording a landslide win.
The exercise was supervised by Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, who acted as the Returning Officer and announced the outcome in Jos after votes from the 17 Local Government Areas were collated.
Declaring the results, Governor Mutfwang revealed that President Tinubu secured 242,023 votes, while his challenger, Mr. Tunde Osifo, received 303 votes.
He explained that the figures represented the total votes gathered from all local government areas in the state.
“By the authority granted to me as Returning Officer for the APC presidential primary election in Plateau State, I confirm this as the official result compiled from the 17 Local Government Areas,” the governor stated.
Governor Mutfwang applauded the peaceful and orderly manner in which the exercise was conducted, describing the process as transparent and credible. He noted that the conduct of party members reflected political maturity and commitment to democratic principles within the APC in Plateau State.
He also commended party supporters for their unity, discipline, and active participation throughout the primary election.
The exercise attracted a large turnout of APC members across the state, with many expressing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
At the Federal Government College in Jos, which served as the voting centre for Jos North Local Government Area, supporters gathered in large numbers from the early hours, displaying voting slips, singing solidarity songs, and openly backing the President.
Across Plateau State, the exercise was marked by a calm and celebratory atmosphere, with enthusiastic participation from party faithful who expressed confidence in the leadership and direction of President Tinubu.
