President Bola Tinubu goes into the contest facing businessman, Stanley Osifo in the 2026/2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election.
The APC adopted a direct primary system, and Osifo officially purchased the party’s nomination form to challenge the President.
While President Tinubu has received widespread endorsements from state governors, the direct primary allows registered party members across the country’s 8,809 wards to vote.
