Paris Saint-Germain defeated Barcelona 4-2 in a thrilling UEFA Champions League encounter on Tuesday, while Liverpool staged a remarkable comeback against Villarreal and Phil Foden scored a hat-trick in Manchester City’s emphatic victory over AEK Athens.
PSG handed Barcelona their first defeat of the season with a 4-2 victory at the Parc des Princes, as Desire Doue, Lucas Hernandez, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz found the net for the French champions.

Barcelona twice fought back through Xavi Espart and Lamine Yamal but were unable to contain the hosts in a fiercely contested encounter.
PSG started brightly, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia striking the post inside the opening five minutes.
The hosts eventually broke the deadlock when Yamal lost possession in his own half, allowing Doue to fire a powerful low shot into the corner.

Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia produced several saves to keep his side in contention before Espart, making his first Champions League start, restored parity in the 55th minute.

Ferran Torres subsequently struck the woodwork before Hernandez headed PSG back in front from a corner in the 72nd minute.
Yamal equalised again with an individual effort in the 79th minute, but Vitinha restored PSG’s advantage just 109 seconds later.

With Barcelona pushing forward in search of another equaliser, Ruiz converted Achraf Hakimi’s cross at the back post to seal the victory.
The high-intensity encounter also produced several injury concerns, with PSG’s Ousmane Dembele, Kvaratskhelia and Marquinhos, alongside Barcelona’s Dani Olmo, forced off during the match.
“You can’t judge the side on the scoreline alone. What I care about is how my team is able to play. We won the ball back high on multiple occasions, we managed to create chances.
“We also managed to navigate difficult periods, like when Barcelona were on top. We managed to react to that, and score goals when it mattered. It shows what team we are,,” Luis Enrique said.
The results saw defending European champions PSG move to the top of the Champions League standings with nine points, ahead of Liverpool on goal difference.
Liverpool Complete Remarkable Comeback Against Villarreal
Liverpool recovered from a two-goal deficit to defeat Villarreal 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller at Anfield.
The Spanish visitors stunned the home crowd when Georges Mikautadze opened the scoring in the fourth minute before Sergi Cardona doubled their advantage in the 29th.

However, Liverpool launched a spirited comeback, with Alexis Mac Allister pulling a goal back through a header in the 36th minute.
Ronald Araujo restored parity in first-half stoppage time to send the teams into the interval level at 2-2.

Mac Allister completed his brace in the 65th minute to put Liverpool ahead for the first time before Florian Wirtz extended their advantage four minutes later.
Villarreal refused to surrender, with Tani Oluwaseyi reducing the deficit in the 87th minute.

Liverpool, however, held firm under late pressure to secure a 4-3 victory and maintain their strong Champions League campaign.
Foden Bags Hat-Trick as Man City Thrash AEK Athens
Phil Foden struck a hat-trick as Manchester City cruised to a 5-1 victory over AEK Athens at the Etihad Stadium.

Elliot Anderson opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Foden doubled City’s lead in the 34th.
AEK Athens briefly threatened a comeback when Stavros Pilios reduced the deficit seven minutes after the restart.
However, Rayan Cherki restored City’s two-goal cushion in the 57th minute before Foden took control of the contest.

The England international grabbed his second goal in the 65th minute and completed his hat-trick 11 minutes later to seal an emphatic victory.
“I enjoyed that a lot. The lads were great… we showed determination. It wasn’t pretty at times – we were giving sloppy passes away – but we stuck at the plan, kept going and broke them down,” Phil Foden said.
