PTML Customs Reaffirms Welfare Drive for Officers,

The Port and Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting the welfare of officers and their families through sustained support for the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA).

This commitment was reiterated during the inauguration of Hajiya Nabila Miko as the new Chairperson of the COWA PTML Chapter at the Command headquarters

Speaking at the ceremony, the Customs Area Controller, PTML Area Command, DC Nura Miko, described COWA as a vital partner in fostering family stability and supporting the overall wellbeing of Customs officers.

According to him, “the association continues to complement the efforts of the Nigeria Customs Service by promoting welfare, empowerment and community development initiatives that positively impact officers’ families and society at large.”

The Area Controller assured the new leadership of the Command’s continued support, noting that initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and empowerment of members would receive the necessary encouragement and cooperation.

He commended the contributions of the outgoing leadership and expressed confidence that the new administration would build on existing achievements to further strengthen the chapter.

In her inaugural address, the new Chairperson, Hajiya Nabila Nura Miko, pledged to consolidate on the successes recorded by previous administrations while advancing programmes focused on welfare, empowerment and community service.

Hajiya Miko stated that her administration would prioritise support for members, expand skills acquisition opportunities and promote initiatives that contribute to the development of host communities through health, educational and environmental interventions.

The Chairperson also expressed appreciation to the National President of COWA, Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi, for her leadership and commitment to the growth of the association across the country.

She acknowledged the efforts of the outgoing Chairperson, Mrs. Ifeoluwa Anani, whose tenure witnessed the implementation of several impactful programmes, including health awareness campaigns, empowerment workshops, educational outreach initiatives and environmental sensitisation activities.

The event provided an opportunity for stakeholders to reaffirm the importance of family support systems in enhancing productivity and service delivery within the Nigeria Customs Service.

The PTML Area Command remains committed to supporting programmes and initiatives that promote the welfare of officers and their families in line with the Service’s broader objectives of professionalism, efficiency and national development.
