The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has strengthened its partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Katsina State to address cases of vandalism and Right-of-Way (RoW) encroachment threatening the nation’s electricity transmission infrastructure.
The renewed collaboration was reaffirmed during a courtesy visit by the Assistant General Manager, Transmission, Katsina Sub-Region, Engr. Usman S. Idris, to the NSCDC Katsina State Command.

According to a statement by TCN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, Mrs Ndidi Mbah, Engr. Idris commended the NSCDC for its prompt response to previous security concerns and briefed the Command on other recent developments, including the vandalisation of Towers T-219 and T-228 along the Katsina–Daura 132kV transmission line.
Engr. Idris stressed the need for sustained collaboration between both agencies to safeguard critical national infrastructure against sabotage.
Responding, the NSCDC Katsina State Commandant, Abbas Dan-Ile Moriki, said investigations into the vandalism had commenced and assured TCN of the Corps’ continued support.
He pledged stronger coordination to tackle vandalism and Right-of-Way encroachment through proactive security measures.
Both organisations also agreed to strengthen information sharing as part of efforts to protect Nigeria’s electricity transmission infrastructure from further attacks.
