Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, has pledged support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, as the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement inaugurated its state chapter.
Governor Yahaya made the declaration at the inauguration of the Gombe State chapter, where 26 vehicles were donated to strengthen the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s grassroots mobilisation.
He said the state would deploy its political structures and grassroots networks to secure victory for President Tinubu and the APC at all levels in the 2027 elections.
He attributed the growing support for the President in Gombe State to the Federal Government’s development interventions in agriculture, livestock development, infrastructure, healthcare, energy and other critical sectors.
The governor commended the ongoing construction of the Gombe-Biu Super Highway, describing the projects as significant interventions with far-reaching economic benefits.
He said the Federal Government’s approval of N120 billion for the livestock development project would boost agricultural production, strengthen livestock value chains, create employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth in Gombe and the wider North-East region.
Governor Yahaya maintained that the interventions had provided the people with compelling reasons to appreciate the President’s commitment to the state’s development, adding that the goodwill generated would further strengthen the APC’s political base.

He pledged to mobilise party leaders, stakeholders and grassroots organisations across the state in support of Tinubu’s re-election.
The governor also commended the founder and Grand Patron of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, for donating the 26 vehicles.
He described the donation as a significant boost to the movement’s capacity to reach communities, engage residents and strengthen the APC’s mobilisation efforts across the state.
Earlier, Tompolo, who was represented by High Chief Kestin Pondi, said the vehicles were provided to enhance the movement’s operational capacity, facilitate political engagement across constituencies and communities, and increase public awareness of the President’s policies and vision for Nigeria.
Pondi also praised Governor Yahaya’s administration for its investments in road infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic development, describing the governor as a progressive leader whose policies reflected the developmental ideals of the APC.
He specifically commended the state government’s road construction programme, saying he had been informed that at least 100 kilometres of roads were being constructed in each of the 11 local government areas in Gombe State.
According to him, the projects represent a substantial investment in connectivity and grassroots development, adding that visible achievements by elected officials could strengthen the party’s appeal to voters.
“This is development. This is connectivity. This is the dividend of democracy. If all governors had done what you have done, we would have less to worry about during campaigns, because performance would do the campaigning for us,” he said.
Also speaking, the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Mohammed Abubakar Luggerewo, commended the movement for supporting the APC’s mobilisation efforts in the state.
He acknowledged the Federal Government’s interventions in Gombe across various sectors, emphasising the importance of sustained collaboration between the federal and state governments in driving development.
The National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Adekanbi Asuku, urged residents to participate actively in the movement’s activities and mobilise support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
In his remarks, the Gombe State Coordinator, Khalid Ahmed Kumo, thanked Governor Yahaya for the support extended to the organisation since it began operations in the state.
He gave the assurances that the movement would continue to work with the APC’s political structures in Gombe to strengthen grassroots engagement and mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming elections.
