President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to the family of the late Emir of Zurmi, Sarkin Zamfaran Zurmi, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Bello Sulaiman, who passed away on Monday.
The President also commiserated with the Zurmi Emirate Council, the government and people of Zamfara State, as well as the traditional institution in Nigeria over the monarch’s death.
In a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the late Emir as a highly respected traditional ruler who led his people with wisdom, dignity and unwavering commitment during a particularly challenging period.
President Tinubu noted that during his five-year reign, the monarch demonstrated courage and exemplary leadership in guiding the Emirate through difficult security challenges while promoting peace, unity and resilience among his people.
“His Royal Highness was a stabilising figure whose wise counsel and dedication to peace-building were invaluable not only to Zurmi Emirate but to Zamfara State and our nation’s efforts to restore lasting peace in the North-West,” he said.
The Nigerian leader prayed that Almighty God would forgive the late Emir’s shortcomings, reward his good deeds and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.
He also prayed for comfort and fortitude for the royal family, the people of Zurmi Emirate and all those mourning the traditional ruler.
Alhaji Sulaiman died five years after ascending the throne of the Zurmi Emirate.
