Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South Senatorial District, has emerged as the flag bearer of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) for the November,6th gubernatorial polls in the state.
The 108 delegates out of accredited 141 delegates for the primary election held in Awka, voted in support of his sole candidacy in line with the party’s constitution.
Senator Ubah, while speaking shortly after emerging as the standard bearer of YPP, appreciated the delegates for their sacrifice for the party and the confidence reposed in him.
He equally thanked officials of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), for monitoring the exercise.
He said that he has a blue print on education, security, infrastructural development and wealth creation which according to him would positively transform the State.
He expressed optimism that he would emerge victorious in the November 6 governorship election to governed the state.
The National Secretary of the party, Barrister Vidiyeno H. Bamaiyi, while congratulating the YPP candidate and the delegates for the peaceful conduct of the exercise urged them to take the good news of the party to all the nooks and crannies of Anambra State ahead of the election.
Bamaiyi also appealed to the people of the state to give YPP a chance in the guber polls noting that the major problem confronting Nigeria has to do with political parties that have no ideology and program for the nation as YPP.
“YPP has her philosophy and ideology about leadership which is lacking in many political parties, all of us should work hard to get victory for our candidate on November 6, so that from there, the nation building process can begin.” He concluded.
In their separate speeches, the State Chairman, Prince Moses and Ubah’s media aide, Mr Kamie Chuka, charged the delegates to intensify their campaign strategy to ensure YPP emerges winner of the November 6, 2021 governorship election.
INEC officials led by Mr. Damian Akhamhe, while expressing their satisfaction, described the process as peaceful and transparent.
Delegates from all the twenty-one local government areas of the state participated in the Party’s primary election which was witnessed by INEC officials and security agencies.
