The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening inter-agency collaboration in addressing security challenges and promoting national stability.

The commitment was made during a strategic meeting between the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, and the Inspector-General of Police, Disu Olatunji, at the Customs Headquarters in Abuja.

Speaking during the engagement, Adeniyi congratulated the Police Chief on his appointment and expressed confidence in his capacity to lead the force effectively.

He stressed the importance of stronger cooperation among security agencies in tackling emerging threats and safeguarding national interests.

According to him, sustained collaboration between the Customs Service and the Police Force will enhance intelligence sharing, operational efficiency and coordinated responses to security concerns across the country.

The Nigeria Customs Service stands with the Nigeria Police Force in these challenging times. We will continue to support efforts aimed at restoring peace and security across the country. Together, we can strengthen the safety and stability of our nation,” Adeniyi stated.

The Customs boss noted that closer cooperation among security institutions remains critical to addressing evolving security threats and ensuring effective law enforcement.

In his remarks, Inspector-General of Police Disu Olatunji thanked the Comptroller-General and the management of the Nigeria Customs Service for the warm reception, describing the visit as an opportunity to further strengthen the longstanding partnership between both agencies.

The purpose of this visit is to deepen our relationship and reaffirm that you have a reliable partner in the Nigeria Police Force. Sustained collaboration among our personnel will enhance our collective efforts in addressing security challenges,” the IGP said.

He emphasised that effective inter-agency cooperation remains essential for improving national security and achieving lasting peace and development.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for both organisations to discuss areas of mutual interest and reinforce their shared commitment to protecting lives and property, strengthening national security, and supporting the country’s development agenda.

The engagement comes amid renewed efforts by security agencies to improve coordination and enhance responses to emerging security threats across Nigeria.
