The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, Southeast Nigeria, has expressed confidence in its chances in the 2027 general elections, with party leaders and candidates assuring supporters of victory across national and state-level positions.
The assurance was given during a meeting with the state APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoroemegha; Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Onyekachi Peter Nwebonyi; Senator representing Ebonyi South, Anthony Ani; and the party’s candidate for Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency, Joseph Ekumankama, alongside other stakeholders.
Okoroemegha attributed the party’s confidence to what he described as achievements in infrastructure and human capital development under the Ebonyi State Government.
He said the meeting was organised to enable newly sworn-in local government chairmen to interact with key party stakeholders and strengthen preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Nwebonyi said the meeting was aimed at developing strategies to secure victory for the APC in the forthcoming elections.
“Going by the achievements of the leader of the party in the state, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and the state APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoroemegha, I can tell you authoritatively that APC in the state doesn’t have any contender,” he said.
Also, the Senator representing Ebonyi South, Anthony Ani, called on the electorate to give the APC another opportunity, arguing that the party had performed well and should be allowed to continue its work.
Similarly, the party’s candidate for Afikpo/Edda Federal Constituency, Joseph Ekumankama expressed confidence in his electoral prospects, attributing his optimism to the infrastructure and human capital development initiatives of the state government.
He urged the people of Ebonyi State to support the APC and its candidates in the 2027 elections, saying this would enable the party to sustain its development efforts in the state and the country.
The State Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Mrs Queendaline Nwigwe, also commended the state’s infrastructure and human capital development efforts.
Nwigwe expressed satisfaction with what she described as the positive impact of the APC-led administration in Ebonyi State.
