Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure re-election in 2027.
He said President Tinubu’s administration’s performance and ongoing economic reforms have positioned it favourably before Nigerians.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communications, Ikharo Attah, the minister said the Tinubu administration has remained faithful to its commitments by implementing far-reaching reforms to reposition the economy and lay the foundation for sustainable and inclusive development.
Alausa said the President’s bold policy decisions are already delivering measurable economic benefits, citing improving macroeconomic indicators and positive assessments from leading local and international institutions as evidence of progress.
“The country’s economic progress is backed by verifiable data rather than political claims,” he said.
According to him, independent reports released by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, Bloomberg, and Nigeria’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) indicate that the ongoing reforms are producing measurable results while strengthening confidence in the Nigerian economy.
The minister noted that key economic indicators are gradually improving, pointing to easing inflation, expanding economic activity, and steady progress across other critical sectors as evidence that the reforms are beginning to deliver the desired outcomes.
While acknowledging the encouraging outlook, Alausa stressed that the President remains committed to ensuring the reforms are sustainable and continue to benefit Nigerians beyond the lifespan of the current administration.
“The President is focused on building a stronger Nigeria for generations to come. These reforms are not designed for short-term gains but to create lasting prosperity. There is no value in making difficult decisions if they cannot stand the test of time,” the minister said.
He added that the administration’s emphasis on fiscal discipline, structural reforms, and long-term economic stability is already translating into positive outcomes across various sectors, positioning the country for inclusive growth, enhanced productivity, and sustainable national development.
