Governor Akeredolu of Ondo state sworn in for second term

The governor of Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu (SAN), was on Wednesday, February 24, sworn-in for a second term after winning the last gubernatorial election by the state chief judge, Olubunmi Olateru-Olagbegi.

Governor Akeredolu alongside his running mate, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, took the oath of office in Akure, the state capital at the international Culture and Event Centre, Akure, south- west Nigeria.

Addressing the people, the Governor said the decision to give more attention to security and energy followed the increasing rate of insecurity and industrial development in Ondo State

He shall henceforth pay more attention to security and energy to boost socio-economic situation of the state

The governor hinted that agriculture would be revolutionized to enhance food security and create job opportunities

Appreciating the outgone exco members for contributing meaningfully to the achievements recorded in the first term, Governor Akeredolu commended the people of Ondo State.

Dignitaries present at the swearing-in ceremony are Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, and Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State.

Other prominent Nigerian politicians in attendance were former Senate president, Ken Nnamani, Iyiola Omisore, Ibikunle Amosun.
