The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule has commended President Bola Tinubu for what he described as bold and courageous economic reforms capable of repositioning Nigeria’s economy for recovery and long-term growth.
Governor Sule gave the commendation after successfully scaling the All Progressives Congress (APC) screening exercise ahead of the party’s primary election for the Nasarawa North Senatorial seat.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the exercise, the governor praised the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market, noting that the policies were difficult but necessary decisions.
“The reforms undertaken by President Bola Tinubu, especially the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market, are courageous decisions that have set Nigeria on the path to recovery,” Sule stated.
The governor also applauded the growing strength of the All Progressives Congress across the country, saying the party had continued to expand its political influence since the 2023 general elections.
According to him, the APC, which controlled about 21 states after the 2023 elections, is now positioning itself to win more states ahead of the 2027 polls.
Governor Sule described the screening exercise as seamless and commended the party leadership for the warm reception extended to aspirants.

“From what you have seen, the screening was just a quick exercise. The party has seen what we have done, and they are appreciating it. We thank God,” he said.
The governor further disclosed that before arriving for the screening exercise, he had been monitoring a kidnapping incident involving students living off-campus at the Nasarawa State-owned university.
He assured residents that security agencies had made significant progress in the operation, including the arrest of the suspected leader of the kidnap gang.
The screening exercise was held at the Plateau State Liaison Office in Abuja and conducted by the APC National Screening Committee.
Governor Sule was accompanied by the Chairman of his Campaign Council, Senator Philip Aruwa Gyunka, the Chairman of Akwanga Local Government Area and ALGON Chairman, Safiyanu Isa Andaha, alongside other political stakeholders from the Nasarawa North Senatorial Zone.
Also screened during the exercise was the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Emmanuel Akabe, who is seeking the APC senatorial ticket for the Nasarawa South Senatorial Zone.
