Medical Committee Holds 114th Regular Meeting in Ebonyi

Medical Chiefs across Nigeria have gathered in Ebonyi State for the 114th regular meeting of the Medical Committee of Chief Medical Directors and Medical Directors of Federal Tertiary Hospitals, aimed at assessing tertiary hospitals and ensuring quality healthcare delivery.

The Chairman of the Medical Committee, Professor Sa’ad Ahmed, along with other officials paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, at the Old Government House in Abakaliki, the state capital as pat of the activities of the meeting.

He explained that the choice of Ebonyi State was to enable the committee assess the David Umahi Federal University Teaching Hospital, Uburu, which was established four years ago.

Ahmed commended Governor Nwifuru for prioritising the health sector in the state, noting that his observations on ground reflected significant commitment.

In response, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, represented by his Deputy, Patricia Obila, congratulated the medical team for choosing Ebonyi State as the venue for this year’s meeting.

She urged the medical chiefs to always fast-track matters concerning the state, so that the Governor’s vision for the health sector would be achieved at a maximized level.
