Nigeria and Germany have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and modernising their strategic partnership, with emphasis on trade and investment, education, culture, innovation, regional peace and security, and people-to-people relations.
The Nigerian Ambassador to Germany, Ambassador Ita Enang, stated this when he received the Ambassador-designate of Germany to Nigeria, Ambassador Stefan Roessel, at the Embassy of Nigeria in Berlin.
According to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Ebienfa, during the meeting, Ambassador Enang personally handed over the diplomatic visa processed by the Nigerian Mission to Roessel ahead of his assumption of duty in Abuja.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both diplomats to exchange views on ways to further strengthen bilateral relations and explore new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Ambassador Enang encouraged the German envoy to engage widely across Nigeria and experience the country’s rich cultural diversity, economic opportunities, youthful population and growing potential.
He also urged him to promote a balanced and factual understanding of Nigeria during his tour of duty.
In his response, Ambassador-designate Roessel expressed enthusiasm about his forthcoming assignment and pledged to explore new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between Nigeria and Germany.
The meeting marks an important step in the continuing diplomatic relationship between the two countries and underscores their shared commitment to building a stronger, more dynamic and mutually beneficial Nigeria-Germany partnership.
