President Tinubu also acknowledged Badaru’s service as Minister of Defence from August 2023 until his resignation in December 2025, commending the patriotism and commitment he brought to the responsibility.

The State House records that he was appointed Defence Minister on August 21, 2023, and resigned on December 1, 2025.

The President described Badaru, the Sardaunan Ringim, as an embodiment of humility, discipline and enterprise, noting that “he successfully transitioned from the private sector, where he founded the Talamiz Group, into impactful public service.”

He further commended the former governor’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress, APC, including his current role as Director-General of the Arewa for Asiwaju, A4A, campaign group.
