Renewed Hope Agenda Gains Momentum in Niger State

By Nura Mohammed

The Niger State Coordinator of Renewed Hope, Mohammed Nma Kolo, has expressed strong confidence in the Renewed Hope agenda, saying it is increasing public trust and giving people hope in the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

Nma Kolo spoke during an interview with journalists while discussing the party’s readiness for the upcoming primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections. He said the agenda is gaining support across the state, with many residents becoming more hopeful about the direction of governance.

According to him, people from Minna, the state capital, to rural communities are embracing the programme because it focuses on important areas such as agriculture, food security, infrastructure, and youth empowerment. He explained that these sectors directly affect the daily lives of the people and are already showing positive results.

Mohammed Nma Kolo added that traditional rulers, women’s groups, and youths have all shown strong support for the initiative. He said many of them see it as a good plan for long-term growth and development in the state.

He also explained that the absence of campaign billboards and posters of President Tinubu, unlike during the 2023 elections, shows that the government is focusing more on delivering results than on early campaigns. He noted that support groups are instead working at the grassroots to inform people about the benefits of government programmes.

On party preparations, Kolo said the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State is fully ready for the primaries. He said the party is united and is strengthening its structures across all 25 local government areas, while also engaging delegates and stakeholders at the grassroots.

Speaking on the economy and security challenges, Kolo said the situation has made the Renewed Hope agenda more important. He explained that government efforts in agriculture and security are already bringing improvements, with farmers returning to their farms and economic activities gradually picking up.

He described the emergence of new political groups as part of democracy but maintained that the APC remains a strong and well-organised party with the experience to deliver development.

Mohammed Nma Kolo also called on APC members in the state to remain united and focused ahead of the primaries. He warned against division and urged members to work together for the success of the party.
