Thousands of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) turned out massively across Kano State as the party conducted its direct Presidential primaries peacefully in all 484 political wards.
The exercise, aimed at electing the APC presidential flag bearer ahead of the 2027 general elections, featured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and challenger, Stanley Osifo.
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, who served as an agent for President Tinubu, participated in the exercise at his densely populated Diso Ward in Gwale Local Government Area.

Party members were seen standing in long queues under intense sunshine as officials conducted accreditation and headcount in an orderly atmosphere.
Chairman of the Presidential Primaries Election Committee for Diso Ward, Ibrahim Muhammad Abdullahi, announced the result of the exercise, declaring “President Tinubu winner with 5,277 votes, while his opponent, Stanley Osifor, scored zero votes.”
Speaking after the announcement, Governor Yusuf commended party members for their peaceful conduct and dedication throughout the exercise.

“I thank all delegates and party members for their orderly conduct despite the scorching sun,” he said.
The Governor described the overwhelming victory recorded in his ward as a strong indication of support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
“This victory is a clear signal that Nigerians are ready to give President Tinubu another mandate to consolidate on his economic reforms and developmental policies,” Governor Yusuf stated.

He maintained that the President deserved re-election considering what he described as ‘ongoing reforms and transformation across various sectors of the economy.’
The APC direct presidential primaries were conducted peacefully across Kano State, while collation of results from other wards continued.
