The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has described the successful flag-off of the 10 Million National Women Mega Empowerment and Rally as a defining moment for womanhood and a significant step in a broader national awakening.
The Minister, who doubles as the National Convener, Power of 10 Million: One Voice. One Movement. ‘One Choice’, said the gathering, transcended ceremony, reflecting the strength, unity, and resilience of Nigerian women across regions, generations, and sectors, who came together under a shared vision of empowerment and national development.
“With a heart full of gratitude, deep fulfilment, and an abiding sense of a defining moment for womanhood, I celebrate the triumphant flag-off of the first-of-its-kind National Women Mega Empowerment and Rally.”
She conveyed deep appreciation to the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, “for her visionary leadership, maternal strength, and unwavering commitment”, acknowledging her leadership and commitment to the initiative’s success and national significance.

The Minister also lauded the contributions of wives of National Assembly members, governors and their spouses, ministers, and organised women’s groups, noting that their collective engagement strengthened mobilisation efforts and reinforced the role of women in governance and grassroots development.
“Your presence and engagement represent a powerful bridge between governance and grassroots mobilisation.”
She further acknowledged the support of security agencies, committee members, media organisations, private sector partners, and volunteers, whose coordinated efforts ensured the seamless execution of the event and amplified its reach nationwide.
According to her, the rally marks the beginning of a sustained national movement, with plans underway for a comprehensive communiqué and continued engagement across the country; “This is not the final word of this movement.”
Minister Sulaiman-Ibrahim called on Nigerian women to take ownership of the initiative, sustain its momentum, and deepen its impact as a platform for unity, empowerment, and inclusive growth.
“This is our moment of unity, our platform of empowerment, and our bridge to a more inclusive and prosperous Nigeria.”
She emphasised that the convergence not only advanced a shared agenda but also fostered reconnection, collaboration, and renewed understanding among participants, strengthening national cohesion and collective purpose.
The Minister urged participants to keep the spirit of the movement alive through its shared theme song, describing it as a living anthem of unity, strength, and purpose, expressing optimism that Nigerian women, children, families, and vulnerable groups will continue to prosper under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“It reinforces our shared determination as we advance towards the 2027 mandate of a non-negotiable One Choice in support of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.”
The National Women Mega Empowerment and Rally, held in Abuja, brought together stakeholders from across the federation in what the Minister described as a historic convergence that has ignited a lasting movement for women’s advancement in Nigeria.
