Women Affairs Minister Receives Leadership Excellence Award

The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim has received the Guardians of the Nation International (GOTNI) Leadership Centre Excellence in Leadership Award, for her contributions to inclusive leadership, innovation, and social development.

The award was presented in Abuja during the two-day National Leadership Conference 2026, organised by GOTNI Leadership Centre, by the founder, Mr Linus Okorie.

The recognition highlights the Ministry’s focus on expanding opportunities for women, children, families and vulnerable persons through skills development, enterprise support, social protection and economic empowerment, under Minister Sulaiman-Ibrahim.

It also celebrates the Ministry’s continued efforts to strengthen child protection, address gender-based violence, provide survivor-centred services and improve social development systems.

The Minister’s award was received by her Special Assistant (Technical) and Community Engagement, and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development, Princess Jummai Idonije.

GOTNI Leadership Centre, which focuses on leadership capital development and transforming institutions through leadership development, described the award as recognition of leadership oriented towards innovation, inclusion and measurable social impact.

The recognition comes as the Ministry continues to pursue policies and programmes aimed at making social development interventions more inclusive, responsive and people-centred.
