The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA has declared former aviation minister and ex-senator Stella Oduah the winner of its Anambra North senatorial primary election held on May 23.

According to the party, Oduah secured 22,076 votes across the seven local government areas in the district, defeating her closest challenger, Primus Odili, and other aspirants.

In a statement issued by APGA National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, the party said the primary election was conducted peacefully across all 99 wards in Anambra North Senatorial District, with results announced at the ward level.

The party also dismissed alternative vote computations being circulated by some aspirants, describing them as inaccurate and unauthorised.

“APGA has noted computations circulating by some aspirants regarding the collation of results for the Anambra North Senatorial District primary election.

“We state categorically that the basis for these computations is incorrect, and no credible result can be derived from such faulty calculations,” the statement said.

Opara said no results were altered during the collation process and insisted that only figures authenticated through the party’s internal verification mechanism should be regarded as valid.

“While concerns have been raised about some ward outcomes, no results were changed, altered or swapped at any stage. All results remain as submitted and collated by the duly appointed collation officers for the seven local government areas,” the statement added.

The party urged aggrieved aspirants to seek redress through APGA’s internal dispute resolution procedures.

APGA also commended party members for what it described as orderly conduct during the exercise and congratulated Oduah on her victory.

Breakdown of the results released by the party showed Oduah leading in several key local government areas, including Ogbaru, where she polled 10,119 votes.

Her closest rival, Primus Odili, recorded his strongest performance in Anambra East with 15,713 votes, while other contenders, including Dr Alex Obiogbolu and Sir John, trailed behind across the district.
